YELLOW PLATES
August 8th, 2008 by thefinalsongIt’s been a while since we heard the news: Group 131 of BSN033 met a car accident while heading home. I was shocked when I received the text message from the Batch Gov 2010. I went to school for some important matters that day. I was surprised with what others had heard: One student died because of that accident. People exaggerated the story.
Its been weeks now since the story happened. I already saw some of the student of Group 131 in school with the bandages on their arm. Seems like the story had already ended. Since then, I don’t really know what happened after the accident: Did the school pay the hospital bills? Are they held liable of the accident? There’s only one sure thing I know. The Institute of Nursing had meetings with the CIs and the drivers of the cars that would bring the student to their respective Clinical Area.
We have been to Bulacan for two rotation and we will be there again for the next rotation. Its a good thing that our CI for the first rotation had told us that we do have our service. The good thing? The CI know the driver very much. Its more safe isn’t it? For the third rotaion our CI also recommended the service we got. The were safe drivers. They already know the route, but it’s not a “FOR HIRE” car.
YELLOW PLATES
Based on the latest news I’ve got. The Institute of Nursing said that students must ride a car with yellow plate or commute instead. The first question I got in mind is: WHY? We don’t know the drivers of those yellow-plated cars our our CIs don’t know them instead. Where in Recto our Morayta can we find them? Are we sure that those cars are safe? Many questions played on my mind.
There was another story. IN would allow private cars to be the service of their BELOVED students, if and only if the car has insurance.
After hearing that, one answer poped out in my mind. FEU Institute of Nursing doesn’t want to be liable of the students that’s why they want those yellow-plated cars. Do I make sense? I don’t have nothing against FEU or IN, but that’s how the story goes.
I don’t know what would happen to me after posting this. But this is only an opinion of a nursing student who searches for an answer.
