June 16th, 2009 by ian.evasco
The FEU Tamaraws continued its rampage in the pre-UAAP season leagues after winning the MVP Cup at the expense of the UE Red Warriors, 84-78. The Tams threatened to break the game wide open in the first two quarters, leading as much 24 points but their cross-street rival staged a strong comeback in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
UE slashed the deficit to two points in the final 30 seconds but FEU rookie RR Garcia canned in two free throws to put the game out of reach. Garcia was named tournament MVP and finished the game with 17 points, while JR Cawaling paced the champs with 20.
