Tamaraws thump UE, remain unscathed
July 23rd, 2010 by aldrinvA solid fourth quarter helped the FEU Tamaraws stave off a monster game from Paul Lee of the UE Red Warriors and remain undefeated in UAAP Season 73, yesterday at the Araneta Coliseum.
FEU raced to a big lead at the start of the game but UE patiently chipped away at the deficit and eventually caught up with the Tams by the end of the third quarter. After UE’s top scorer was forced to ride the bench due to cramps with around eight minutes left in the final quarter, the green and gold squad made a 21-11 run to finish off their rivals. Paul Sanga converted 6 triples to lead the Tams with 18 points while Aldrech Ramos chipped in 17 and 13 rebounds.
Lee paced the red team with 27 points. FEU now carries a 3-0 record while UE is at 0-3. The Tams will face the UP Fighting Maroons on Sunday, July 25, at the PhilSports Arena.
