MANILA, Philippines – Ryan Garcia broke out of a slump in impressive fashion, dishing out a 21-point norm in two games last week and helping Far Eastern U secure a berth in the Final Four of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.

Garcia, a former RP Youth standout, scored a game-high 25 points, including two triples, as the Tamaraws beat the Adamson Falcons, 84-75, last Thursday before finishing with 17 points in their 86-74 victory over University of the Philippines last Saturday.

Garcia’s pair of solid games netted the 19-year-old FEU stalwart the Accel-FilOil Player of the Week plum from UAAP Press Corps.

“I’m happy for him because he struggled in our past games,” said FEU coach Glen Capacio. “I like what I’m seeing from him and hopefully, it continues this season.”
