‘Pepeng’ won’t stop bar exams on Sunday

After being suspended last week due to tropical storm “Ondoy” (Ketsana), this year’s bar examinations will resume this Sunday.
Supreme Court spokesman Jose Midas Marquez said the bar exams Committee cited “improving” weather conditions in its decision.
“Mukhang gumaganda ang panahon, nag-decision ang chairman ng Bar Exams Committee at itutuloy ang Bar exams sa La Salle (The weather is improving, so the chairman of the Bar Exams committee decided to push through with the Bar exams at the La Salle campus),” he said in an interview on dzBB radio.
He said many had been asking if the bar exams will push through this Sunday because of the threat from typhoon “Pepeng” (Parma).
Typhoon “Pepeng’s” intensity has slightly weakened. Its maximum sustained winds, an indicator of the typhoon’s intensity, has decreased to 175 kilometers per hour from 195 kph near the center. Its gustiness is also down to 210 kph from 230, but it retained its speed at 13 kph moving toward the northwest direction.
At least 6,080 aspiring lawyers will take this year’s bar examinations at the De La Salle University along Taft Avenue in Manila. - GMANews.TV
