Inspired Tamaraws def UE in Round 1
July 26th, 2008 by adminOne of the best UAAP season 71 men’s basketball games played, and one of the most inspiring. It was shown that the Battle of the East was done with heart. The Charging Tamaraws defeated the UE Red Warriors last July 26 in the Philsports arena 71-69 for their first meet in men’s basketball. The Tamaraws, players AND fans, were obviously driven by the current state of the wounded Tamaraw Marnel Baracael (due to a gunshot wound made by, still, an unknown suspect for, still, unknown reason/s).
The team rejoiced in tears as they dedicate the game to Baracael who’s currently confined in Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City and is in stable (and conscious) condition. Earlier, DLSU maintained its second place spot (next to the undefeated ADMU Blue Eagles) in the standings after defeating the UP Fighting Maroons 82-60, while the Tamaraws currently ranks third.
