FEU student tested positive for H1N1

    June 6th, 2009 by admin

    From ABS-CBN News.com

The Far Eastern University (FEU) has confirmed that one of its students has tested positive for the influenza A (H1N1) virus.

FEU Medical Director Dr. Blanca Destura made the confirmation to ABS-CBN News about the female patient who had “flu-like symptoms”.

The student had been brought to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Alabang, Muntinlupa for tests.

FEU school officials are currently conducting a closed-door meeting to discuss how to contain the possible spread of A(H1N1) virus in the university.

Destura earlier said that their clinic has registered nearly 100 cases of students carrying flu-like symptoms last week.

This prompted them to postpone the opening of their classes to June 17.
