Let's not be hasty regarding Andy Barroca. While he is presumed guilty given that the University haphazardly moved to get him out of the team, there is NO CERTAINTY as to the charges against him as factual. All we--and even the insiders we've talked to--know is that there are allegations. So far, I haven't heard of any investigation about the matter--which sucks. What are the authorities doing? We don't know. So up until there is evidence, we can't damn the guy, who has vehemently refuted the charges. We still don't know who the real victim is of this tragedy. But, of course, you are entitled to your own opinion. I'm just here reminding everyone that, from what I know, Andy deserves to have his own say on the matter. Hi, tam08aaron. I also thought that it would have been the end of 'related' aberrations but apparently it's not, hoping that it would at least result to a reminder of how dirty college games could be. As you put it Sir Les, choosing the way out may not be as easy as walking away which is also another point proven by last year's shooting. For this to happen during this season after such well-publicized incident last year made the problem go from bad to worse. We all thought UAAP has "flexed" their muscles last year when they conducted internal investigations even with CIDG representatives infiltrating the league. It's quite daunting that even with wards in place, shady mechanism is still working. But it's more daunting that students and UAAP fans would lose interest in the games if this issue remains unresolved or at least tolerably controlled.
