Before and After
August 18th, 2010 by PinoyHFirst of all, I want to apologize to the administrators of this page. I’m not able to write an article after the heartbreaking loss of FEU against AdU. Well, I’ll make this article 2-in-1 hehe.
The reason why FEU lost against Adamson is because they clamped down RR Garcia in the 4th Quarter. As we all know, RR Garcia is ready to take the challenge as a clutch player for the Tamaraws. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen. Adamson simply exposed one of the weaknesses of our Team. We relied too much on RR Garcia. In the 4th Quarter of that game, The Players simply forces their shots because they can’t find Garcia around the play. So I said to myself that, we must not always rely on RR Garcia because it’s pretty obvious to the opposing team that the ball will end up in his hands. Somebody must step up to the challenge. Basketball is a team sport. Well, too bad for us, Adamson played well as if there is no tomorrow (look on how they celebrate after the game), Hats off to them.
Fast forward to the FEU-UE Part 2. Good News, The Tamaraws able to stop Paul Lee, but bad news, the other Paul steps up. There are too many Free Throw shots coming from the Red Side which gave them a chance to snatch this game away from us. Their outside shots were off in this game, so they simply do a suicidal move, attack the basket. It seems like their backcourt was not afraid against our Big Man. I hope our big men will show their killer instinct after this game. Our Frontcourt is our main advantage against the opposing teams. They must play defense to gain that killer instinct (well except for Aldrech Ramos). We’re good on our offense but please, don’t give the enemy a chance to get closer to our lead or even snatch the game away from us. We already got an 18 point lead but it suddenly gone because of freaky defense. Defense is the key in our game, use it. We can do a lot of damage in offense, but our defense & over confidence is giving our opponents daylight. During the Late 4th Quarter, UE also made a run that almost snatch this game away from us. As what also happened is the Adamson, Force shots are everywhere. Luckily for us, Raffy Reyes of UE miss the shot that almost gave us the “new streak”. Someone must step up in the challenge aside from RR Garcia. Say “No” to Over confidence.
