3 FEU cheer dancers ineligible for UAAP CDC
August 28th, 2008 by aldrinvIt has come to our attention that three (3) cheer dancers from the FEUCS (Far Eastern University Cheering Squad) were found ineligible to participate in the upcoming UAAP CDC (Cheer Dance Competition) to be held on September 7th. Also, several dancers from other universities were also removed (temporarily that is) from their respective teams according to the newly implemented rule for cheer dancers of the league. As mentioned by a few blogs (students and alumni of UAAP members universities), the rule has been implemented within the last week of August (2008), same as the rule that prevails among other athletes of their schools, wherein they should serve at least 1 year residency in the squad before they can participate in the actual cheer dance competition. Also mentioned in the blogs that they should be enrolled in at least 4 subjects, bearing 12 units before the semester (considering the fact that some universities have different curricula).
I’m not really sure about the rules, as they (blogs) come to me as rumors and posts on various forums online. But based on their “tone”, most of them are extremely disappointed, considering the fact that the rule has been implemented late (last week of August, a few days before the competition itself), and why consider such rule now, since the “disqualified” members had been practicing their routines since summer.
But it was not mentioned who pushed for the said rule/s, and why was it implemented recently.
I guess let’s wait for the.. news? Hope this is not true.
